Potatoes are a big business in northeastern North Carolina, with more than 4,000 acres of spuds grown here in Pasquotank County specifically for potato chips. That’s our cue to invite you to visit the N.C. Potato Festival this weekend in Elizabeth City, May 15-17. The fun begins Friday evening with a kick-off party and continues Saturday and Sunday with live music, rides, the National Potato Peeling competition, “Little Miss Tater Tot” contest, cool drinks and great eats.
