Area Closures Following additional announcements, some local attractions and businesses are announcing closures. We will do our best to list them here. Effective 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2020, all Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, skate facilities, including the Fun Junktion complex are closed until further notice to reduce the spread of COVID-19 across the county. This announcement is in addition to the previous closing of indoor recreation facilities, centers, restrooms, and league games. All trails, parking areas, green space, and the Knobbs Creek Par 3 Golf Course remain open for individuals and groups of 10 or less. • All gyms, salons, theaters, and more – Closed until further notice. Elizabeth City State University remains open; however, it be open with minimal on-campus operations. ECSU students have been directed to remain at their permanent residences after spring break. Online instruction will begin March 30. Updates to campus operations are posted on its coronavirus webpage. Note: All City of Elizabeth City park facilities will remain open; however restrooms will be closed. The City will suspend utility disconnects for the next two weeks for all residential customers. Note: Following Governor Cooper’s March 17 executive order, all dine-in restaurants and bars must close.
