Spend a Fabulous Fourth in Elizabeth City

Spend a Fabulous Fourth in Elizabeth City

Nothing says Fourth of July like a bang-up fireworks display and the Elizabeth City Parks and Recreation Department really know how to put on a show! Join us on Tuesday, July 4, beginning at 6 p.m., at Waterfront Park and Mariners’ Wharf Park for music by DJ Taz, tasty foods, sack races, relay races, three inflatable bouncy houses, face painting, corn hole competition and a watermelon-eating contest. See below for a detailed listing of times and events. Keep cool with the mobile splash pad that will be on site. Waterfront Park: 6:15 p.m. – Sack races 7:15 p.m. – Business tug of war competition 7:35 p.m. – Watermelon eating contest 8:25 p.m. – Watermelon seed spitting contest Then as the sun sets, lie back on your beach blanket and get ready for a star-spangled event as fireworks bloom over the Pasquotank River starting at 9:00 p.m. And if you have a boat, all the better. You can view the spectacle from our free public docks at beautiful Mariners’ Wharf. Extend the holiday for a few days, check our food and lodging guides, or call the Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Center for details at 1-855-842-9559. For more events, refer to our events calendar. Looking forward to seeing you by the water’s edge!
