The 2nd Annual Empty Bowls of the Albemarle, a fundraiser for the Food Bank of the Albemarle, will be held on Wednesday, March 18 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Everyone is treated to soup, bread, dessert and a selected handcrafted bowl to take home as a reminder of the empty bowls across the Albemarle. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Last year the tickets sold out early and it was such a wonderful event with area restaurants donating a variety of soups and volunteering their time along with other volunteers (celebrity servers) from the area. Bowls are being made by local artists and art education students from elementary through high school. Tickets go on sale this week at AoA and at www.afoodbank.org. Don’t miss the worthy event.
